How to reset the console password on AS400 system
Symptom
Methods to resolve the 'forgotten console password' scenario.
Solution
Use the 'clear CMOS' jumper in conjunction with removing E56 (NVRAM/Battery).
Power on and off the system. Power on with the jumper back in place
and battery still removed. Had to power cycle twice to get to the SRM prompt.
Password was clear at this point. Install the NVRAM/Battery back.
